Wash your household linen prior to use in order to eliminate the dressing.
Carefully read the instructions for care printed on the composition labels of the items (please refer to the table below specifying the common symbols).
To avoid problems linked to washing (colour-run, felting, misshaping), sort the items according to their colour and their composition.
Wash items preferably inside out in order to preserve the colours.
Avoid using fabric softeners which, in the event of excessive use, can reduce the absorbency of cotton.
Hang up your laundry as soon as possible after washing.
To make ironing easier, iron your laundry when still damp.
Drench the stain with ammoniac 10%, then rinse several times over in cold water.
Mop up the liquid with an absorbent cloth, then sponge using hot water. Rinse in cold water and wash as normal following the instructions on the label.
Press the stain between two sheets of tissue paper, then run over an iron set at such a temperature that the wax melts without sizzling. Move the paper to a clean spot and repeat the operation as often as necessary.
Place an ice-cube on the reverse of the stained side to harden the chewing-gum before removing it with a knife. Then wash in soapy water.
Place the stained part over a saucepan of boiling water and cover with drops of lemon juice. Rinse with a mixture of water and 5% ammoniac, then plain water. Never use bleach which fixes the stain.
Spread fresh butter completely over the stain. Leave for a few minutes, then gently pat the stain using a cloth impregnated with turpentine. Cover with absorbent clay powder (montmorillonite), then brush off after 12 hours prior to washing.
